Sunrise church service on Easter morning has always been a tradition at the house located on the end of County Road 1526, originally owned by Bill Holloman. It has a fantastic view of Lake Whitney and sunrise. Folks would join for worship then have easter egg hunts and picnics. (Click on any photo to see it enlarged)

In a brief paragraph…

Cedar Shores Estates was developed in the late 1950’s, and many homes went up immediately and during the early 1960’s. This was a master planned community for lakeside vacationing at Lake Whitney, Texas. The owner and developer was Bill Holloman. At that time the water level was many feet lower, allowing for quite an infrastructure of roads and amenities in the original design of the community. The community had over 11 miles of roads that went all the way over and all around Girl Scout Island, included sandy beaches, picnic areas and playgrounds. Many people enjoyed what was a luxurious lake life with a second vacation home back in those days. It was a well planned and kept community. These pictures show what it was like!
